Planning and paying for your funeral in advance may seem a difficult task to face, but like making a will, the ideal time to make these plans is well beforehand, without worry or stress.
Experience has shown the need to be able to plan and pay for funerals in advance at today’s prices. To fulfil this need, there is a ‘Pre-Paid Funeral Plan’ available which is a means of arranging your funeral, or that of a relative or friend.
The Government allows you to invest up to $10,000.00 for a pre-paid funeral which is not considered an asset when a residential care subsidy is calculated
Alternatively, you may prefer to make advance funeral arrangements without paying at this time.
Similar assurances as set out under ‘Benefits of a Pre-Paid Funeral’ would be given, except that payment would need to be made at current prices at the time of death.
