Pre-payment of a Funeral

Pre-payment of funeral expenses is an increasingly popular option. Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) does not count pre-paid funeral funds of up to $10,000 as a financial asset when considering an application for residential care subsidy. 
Gillions do not hold any funeral funds ourselves but rather, are a member of the Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand (FDANZ) Funeral Trust . 
The FDANZ Funeral Trust is a secure way to pre-pay for your funeral. This Trust has been established by FDANZ to assist anyone to make arrangements for their funeral, or the funeral of another person such as a family member.
 The FDANZ Funeral Trust is not an insurance policy, but rather a savings plan for your funeral. No health checks or personal questions are required. Anyone can pre-arrange or pre-pay for a funeral with an FDANZ Funeral Director through the FDANZ Funeral Trust.
You have a choice between payment in one lump sum, or by instalment.
