A devoted and loving husband to Gerda, Jürgen shared with her a deep joy for life - dancing together, tending to their garden, taking on home projects, and exploring the world side by side. He had a remarkable gift for building and repairing, and a lifelong passion for music. Whether playing his guitar or mouth organ, singing, or dancing, he radiated joy. Even into his sixties, he practiced karate with great spirit. With his quick wit and love of humour, he had a special way of lighting up a room - his playful one-liners and unexpected jokes brought laughter to all around him.

Our family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care provided by nursing staff at Birchleigh, dedicated medical staff, friends in the community, including Andrew our caring neighbour.  Their unwavering support, kindness and expertise brought comfort and dignity to Jürgen in his final journey. After a brave, well-fought battle, Sheree passed peacefully on Monday, March 31st, 2025; aged 63 years.

Sheree was a renowned Cocker Spaniel breeder (Espaniel), and very active in the dog show world.

She was a pioneer in nursing informatics while at Nurse Maude, and a property manager with Bruce, in Dunedin. 

Her wisdom will be missed.

A private cremation has taken place in Dunedin. 

A celebration of Sheree’s life will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, April 9th, in the Hornby Club function room, 17 Carmen Road, Hornby, Christchurch.  

All friends and family are welcome.
