FINAL STEPS
After the Farewell
There is also the emotional aspect of the death to come to terms with.
Gillions’ support extends past the funeral to help you through this difficult stage.
Feel free to pop in and have a chat or look through our library.
Later in the year we will send out an invitation to our Christmas remembrance candle lighting service.
Urns
We have available a variety of urns and scatter tubes in different materials and sizes.
Headstones and Monuments
We can discuss your requirements and advise on the appropriate craftsmen to complete your memorial.
We are happy to arrange for the work, or introduce you to them to liaise with directly if you prefer.
Keepsakes
Death Registration
Following the burial or cremation we register the death with the Department of Internal Affairs.
This is a legal requirement and is important for probate or dealing with the will. The death certificate usually takes between several days and two weeks to arrive
Acknowledgement Notice
You may also decide to publish an acknowledgement notice in the newspaper.
This is to thank individuals or organisations who have supported the family or expressed their sympathy after a bereavement.
Acknowledgement Cards
You may want to send thanks to those who have acknowledged a loved one’s death by sending cards or flowers, or by attending the funeral.
We can print personalised acknowledgement cards, featuring a photo, wording and verses that you can choose.
